Manifesto/responses

BOOM! An explosion shakes the very foundations of the barren concrete structure that was once a hospital. The battle was raging ever closer. This was the day of my birth. I was thrust from the protection of my mother's womb into the war-torn streets of Mogadishu. Obviously I just made that story up, which leaves the question of "who am I". I am a brand. I'm a Hollywood kinda guy. I make big moves, and make things happen. That leads to article 2. Why is this Polo poster boy taking a class on Experimental? The answer to that is so that I never stop learning, never stop adapting, and never stop making films.

Hans Richter's piece:
I disagree with Richter's point that all film is not art. I firmly believe that all forms of filmmaking embody art. I watch every movie  I can get my hands on and some are so beautiful that they cause me to shed tears. if thats not art, then art itself is a farce.

Scott MacDonald's piece:
Avante-Garde cinema is certainly an attempt at fighting the Hollywood norms. I believe though, that Avante-Garde can be incorporated in conjunction with mainstream Hollywood to create an original product.
